Topaz crystals can be as big as boulders and weigh kilograms. The El Dorado Topaz from Brazil was discovered in 1984 and weighed an estimated 36kg. After having gone through a process of being faceted and polished, this giant Topaz is considered the largest faceted gemstone in the world, even after being reduced to 6.2kg at 31,000 carats.
