How to care for your J.Lawrence jewellery.

Storing

Jewellery worn on the body will inevitably accumulate grease and grime with normal wear. The best thing you can do for your accessories is to clean them with a soft, dry cloth after each wear before storing them in the ziplock bag. Make sure that your jewellery is completely dry before placing them into a sealed bag. This helps prevent contact with foreign substances (such as perfume, aerosols etc) and atmospheric components (oxygen, salt and high humidity) that may cause oxidation in your sterling silver pieces.

Cleaning

As a general rule of thumb for both gold-filled and sterling silver pieces, use a clean, soft and dry cloth to gently wipe them down after every wear. As your J. Lawrence jewellery are hand-wired with semi-precious gemstones, I do not recommend you to use any chemical cleaners on them. Never submerge your pieces with gemstones or pearls into liquid or cream cleaners. Strong jewellery cleaners will easily damage some gemstones and all pearls.

If you are using a polishing cloth, make sure that it is specifically for the material. Some polishing cloths are treated and are not suitable for use on gold-filled components. If you are using a polishing cloth on gold-filled, wipe gently and lightly. The more strength you apply, the more gold you are removing from your jewellery.

Wearing

The easiest method to keep your sterling silver jewellery looking bright and shiny is to wear them often! So go out and flaunt your pieces! Just remember to clean with a soft, dry cloth before storing them after every wear.

“The golden rule when dressing up  – Put on your jewellery LAST and take them off FIRST.”
